It seems these days that “coaches” are cropping up everywhere. It’s hard to know whether someone knows what they are doing, has the right instincts and experience, and will jive well with your personality. I can say from experience that Amy Fisher Bruey checks the box on all those things and more. She is the real deal. I genuinely looked forward to every session we had, and I always, always walked away with something tangible and productive. Her affect is unwaveringly calming, even as she challenged me to think in new ways. Her ability to spot my opportunities for growth is remarkably keen. Her approach is organized, targeted, and encouraging without a whiff of inauthencity. And though digging into introspection and vulnerability isn’t always comfortable, she somehow made it fun too. After completing the initial stage of our work together, there was no debate whatsoever in my head about continuing to meet with Amy. I plan to keep her in my life as a valuable resource for as long as possible.
